The city has about 600 printing presses including offset and flexo types. More than 25,000 workers are engaged in printing and allied industries in Sivakasi. The town also has a school of printing technology that produces every year of about 150 candidates and was placed in India and in other gulf countries. Even commendably security jobs like printing bank cheque books , flight tickets and lottery tickets were undertaken by the leading presses in Sivakasi. Most of the leading presses are successfully competing with the international bidders , especially in Asia in the export quality printing of children’s books , note books ,magazines, greeting cards, calendars, trade labels and cartons.

              There are about  14 larger units in Sivakasi area. There are about 200 medium units in and around Sivakasi and there are 390 Small units engaged in job work and other related subcontract work for  the larger and the medium units.
