The Reaccreditation Peer  Team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited our Institution with A+ Grade by 2006 with the  score of 90 – 95 % for five more Years

Our College has been recognized as one of the Colleges for College  with Potential for Excellence  Award by the University Grants  Commission, New Delhi with the Development Grant of Rs.1 Crore by 2004 and  joined with the elite club of 47 Colleges at National  Level , 8 Colleges at State Level and 3 Colleges at Madurai Kamaraj University Level .

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore has ranked our Institution with the   highest status of FIVE STARS for its unique achievements and overall academic performance while imparting quality education for the period   1999 – 2005 with an additional extension period of Two more years .

 

4.

Thiru. A. Vairaprakasam, Secretary of the College Committee was honoured by the Madurai Kamaraj University with a Shield and Certificate of Merit in recognition of his meritorious contributions in the field of Higher Education.

 

5.

Dr. A. Pownraja, former Principal of the College was honoured by the Tamil Nadu Government by conferring 'Best Principal Award' upon him for his unique and outstanding services in the institution for the year 1980-'81.

 

6.

The Global Economic Council, New Delhi presented two awards viz., 'RASHTRIYA EKTA AWARD' and 'INDIRA GANDHI SADBHAVNA AWARD' to Dr. G. Sivasubramanian, the  then Principal of the College for outstanding individual achievements and distinguished services to the Nation in the year 2000.

Dr. Alfred Mohandoss, Retired Professor of Zoology was honoured with 'Dr. Radhakrishnan Award for Best Teacher' by the Tamil Nadu Government for his outstanding contribution for the academic development of the college.

The Indian Society of Invertebrate Reproduction honoured,  Dr. Alfred Mohandoss, Retired Professor of Zoology, by conferring 'ISIR Senior Scientist / Teacher Award 1995' upon him at the VII National Symposium on Invertebrate Reproduction held at Cannanore in April 1995.

In the year 1978-79, the College stood first in Pre-University results in the Madurai Kamaraj University. The college produced a record result of 95.4% which no other college achieved this feat ever before.

Our College was awarded with  a Rolling Silver Cup for having secured the FIRST place among Men's colleges of the Madurai Kamaraj University for its outstanding performance in the University Examinations of U.G. and P.G. courses put together for the year 1980-81.

The Tamil Nadu Government nominated Mrs. P. Tamizhchelvi, Lecturer (SG) in Computer Science, as a Member , State Level Sub-committee of the Information Technology Task Force to automate the Government activities and to design the School Curriculum in Computer Science in the year 1998.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared the Best Greenery  Award to our College for  the year 2002

 

13.

Dr. S. Kannan, Head,   Department of Microbiology has been nominated as one among the Rodent Specialists in the South Asian Countries by Rodentia and Insectivora Conservation and Information Network of South Asia (RICINSA).

 

14.

Department of Environment, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Chennai has conferred the "Best College For Environment Awareness" to our College with a  carrier citation and a cash award of Rs. 5000/ in recognition of our contribution to environmental awareness

BEST CO-OPERATIVE STORE AWARD

 

 

1.

 

Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College Students' Co-operative Store was awarded  with a shield for its best performance in the 45th  All India Co-operative Week Celebration held at Virudhunagar for the year 1997-98.

The Students' Co-operative Store of our college received the "Best Co-operative Store Award" for the year 2000-2001 from the district collector for its excellent performance.

 

3.

ANJAC Students' Co-operative Store bagged the 'Best Co-operative Store Award' from the district administration for the years 2001-2002, 2002 - 2003 , 2003 – 2004 and 2004 - 2005.

 

      ANJAC JOURNAL OF SCIENCES

The 'ANJAC Journal of Sciences' gets the national level recognition by getting ISSN : 0972-6012. The first volume of the Journal was released by the  President of our College Committee , Thiru. A. Grahadurai.

 

DST-FIST SPONSORED DEPARTMENTS

The Post-graduate Department of Physics has received Rs. 17.5 Lakhs under FIST programme from the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi by 2001. This is perhaps the highest research grant that the college has ever received. The Post Graduate Department of Physics has thus become a DST-approved centre for higher learning.

Department of Science and Technology has recognized our Department of Chemistry for the FIST  Status and extended the Financial Support to the  tune of Rs. 12 Lakhs by the year 2003.

 

 

SYDNEY OLYMPIC

Shining star C. Thirugnanadurai an old student represented India and participated in the Sydney Olympics 2000 in 4x100 relay and added another feather (star) to  ANJAC.

Dr. V. Ganesan, Head of the Post Graduate Department of Botany participated in the International Conference on "Forest Canopies 1998 : Global Perspectives" held at Sarasota, Florida, USA organised by Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Sarasota and presented a paper entitled "Assessing Growth Strategies of Terminalia bellirica" on 11.11.1998.

Mr. R. Anantharam, Lecturer (S.G.) in Chemistry had the rare opportunity of representing India as Chief of Delegates of the Indian team for children held at Brazil. He was awarded  with the title of 'National Arbiter' in Chess.

Mr. M. Ramachandran, Head , Department of English visited Sri Lanka on an invitation from the Sri Lankan Government to participate in the "Tamil Sahidhya Vizha". He also visited Hattan, Kandy, Mathalai and Colombo and took part in Literary Debates.

 

4.

Dr.P.C.Ganesan, Head, Department of Tamil made a voyage to Canada as part of a Literary Programme, organized by the  Canada Tamil Literary Association, Ottowa, Canada

 

 

5.

B.Geetha,  a part-time Ph.D Research Scholar in the Department of Chemistry presented a research paper entitled "Structural basis for intstruments - Study of model compounds containing spirophosporous moiety and polymers containing such units", in the International Conference Osterlichische Polymertage, held at Mortan Universat Leoban, Austria from September 12 - 14,2001.

Dr.S.Kannan, Head, Department of Microbiology has been deputed by our Management to Birmingham University , U.K. for Overseas Associateship from Sep.2005 to July 2006

Indian Academy of  Sciences has awarded  Academy Summer Fellowship to  R. Anantharaj , I M.Sc.,Biotechnology , May 2006 , to carry out Summer Project at Indian Institute of  Science , Bangalore with the Financial Assistance of Rs.8000 /- for Two Month Period.
