AYYA NADAR JANAKI AMMAL COLLEGE
Established in 1963, in the industrial town of Sivakasi popularly known as “Mini Japan” in Tamilnadu, the Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College (Autonomous), Sivakasi is a standing testimony to the wisdom and foresight of late Thiru.P.Ayya Nadar, a leading businessman and pioneering industrialist of this town.
As the institution was established by his munificence, the college was fittingly named after him and his equally generous wife. Intended to fulfil the long felt needs and aspirations of the people of Sivakasi and suburbs, the college is nurtured and developed by the financial resources provided by two charitable trusts viz., Janaki Ammal Ayya Nadar Trust and P.Iya Nadar Charitable Trust. Today, the Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College (Autonomous) reaccredited with A+ Grade by NAAC and College with Potential for Excellence has become one of the premier institutions of higher learning in Tamilnadu offering 17 UG, 16 PG, 11 M.Phil., and 7 Ph.D., Courses.
Located in a sprawling one hundred and fifty seven acre campus on the Sivakasi-Srivilliputtur road, five kilometers away from Sivakasi, the college has been serving as a beacon light in the backward area of Virudhunagar District.
REOPENING DATE
The College will reopen after summer vacation on Monday the 16th JUNE 2008 for all classes for the academic year 2008-2009.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Admission to the First year B.Sc., B.C.A., B.Com., B.B.A. Courses will be made by the Principal immediately after the distribution of the Higher Secondary Examination Mark Statement.
Students should submit their applications duly completed in all respects with passport size photographs pasted on them at the registration counter in person as soon as the Higher Secondary Mark Statements are received. If a student wishes to apply for more than one course, he should submit separate application for each of the courses desired by him. The last date of receipt of applications for registration would be notified in the college notice board. Applications for any particular course will be accepted after the prescribed last date, only if there are seats vacant in that course. The list of students selected for provisional admission for each of the courses will be put up on the college notice board. Separate interview / selection cards will also be sent by post. Applicants selected for interview will have to meet the Principal in person immediately. Parents / Guardians who take complete responsibility for the education of the applicants shall also accompany them for the interview. Applicants not accompanied by parents / guardians will not be granted interview. Admission will be made on the basis of merit following the rules of reservation prescribed by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
For the Post Graduate courses, the candidates appearing for the final semester degree examination in April / May 2008 may also apply with their fifth semester statement of marks. An entrance test will be held at the college campus and short-listed students will be interviewed for final selection.
All candidates who have been admitted provisionally in the post- graduate courses on the basis of their marks in the first five semesters of the under-graduate course should submit the results of their sixth semester examination within 7 days, from the date of publication of the results. If any candidate who has been admitted provisionally in the post-graduate course on the basis of his / her marks in the previous semester of the under-graduate course fails subsequently in the sixth semester examination, he / she will have to forfeit the seat.
MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAMMES
Application will be received upto 2nd JULY 2008. Students who have appeared for the final examinations of the Post-graduate courses can also apply, in their case, provisional admission will be made on the basis of their marks secured in the first three semesters of the Post-graduate courses. If any candidate provisionally admitted on the basis of his/her marks in the first three semesters but fails subsequently in the fourth semester examination, he/she will have to forfeit his/her seat.

Internet facility with Sify Broadband for 40 systems and each having 64 Kbps bandwidth facility is an added advantage. LCD Projector for video presentation, Electronics Laboratory, Hardware Laboratory, Multimedia Laboratory, RDBMS Laboratory, FAX facility is available.
The entire set up is linked to a 80 KVA UPS. 160 KVA Generator facility is also available.

At the time of joining the hostel, each student shall pay an admission fee of Rs.10/-, hostel deposit of Rs.1500/- and the first semester convenience and establishment charges of Rs.1500/-.
STUDENTS’ CO-OPERATIVE STORES
Every student shall become an associate member of the RA.252 Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College Students’ Co-operative Stores by paying the membership fee Re.1/-. All the students of the first year Under-graduate courses shall pay Rs.700/- towards book advance. Books to the value of the advance collected from each student will be supplied by the RA.252 Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College Students’ Co-operative Stores.

2 All the M.Phil. Students who have migrated from other Universities shall pay Rs.15/- as fee for application, Rs.50/- as University Entrance fee and Rs.175/- as Recognition Fee.
3 Students of M.Phil. Courses Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Microbiology and Biotechnology have to pay an additional fees of Rs.150/- towards ANJAC Journal of Sciences.
The above fees are subject to revision. In addition to the above fees, the student would have to pay any fees that may be prescribed from time to time.
PAYMENT OF FEES
On being selected for admission, students shall pay forthwith tuition fee required to be paid for one semester along with other fees at the college office, failing which they will forfeit their seats.
Students on admission should submit their SSLC / HSC / UG / PG Mark Statements, Conduct Certificate, Community Certificate and Transfer Certificate issued by the College / School in which they previously studied, at the College Office soon after the interview is over.
Students are advised to take five Xerox copies of the Mark Statement, Community Certificate, Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate prior to submitting the originals at the College Office.
NOTE
1. Please note that applications not correctly filled in shall not be considered for admission. If any of the particulars furnished by the applicant is later found to be not true, the applicant will forfeit his / her seat and fees.
2. Admission is subject to verification of mark certificates by the Director of Government Examinations and if the mark certificate is found to be bogus, admission is liable for cancellation besides criminal action being taken.
3. Scholarship will be granted to all eligible students as per government rules.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
UNDER GRADUATE COURSES
Admission to the First year B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. and B.B.A. Courses will be made by the Principal immediately after the distribution of the Higher Secondary Examination Mark Statement.
Students should submit their applications duly completed in all respects with passport size photographs pasted on them at the registration counter in person as soon as the Higher Secondary Mark Statements are received. If a student wishes to apply for more than one course, he should submit separate application for each of the courses desired by him. The last date of receipt of applications for registration would be notified in the college notice board. Applications for any particular course will be accepted after the prescribed last date, only if there are seats vacant in that course. The list of students selected for provisional admission for each of the courses will be put up on the college notice board. Separate interview / selection cards will also be sent by post. Applicants selected for interview will have to meet the Principal in person immediately. Parents / Guardians who take complete responsibility for the education of the applicants shall also accompany them for the interview. Applicants not accompanied by parents / guardians will not be granted interview. Admission will be made on the basis of merit following the rules of reservation prescribed by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
POST-GRADUATE COURSES
The last date of receipt of applications for admission to the Post-graduate courses is 2nd June, 2008. Students need not wait till the publication of the results of the sixth semester examinations. They can send their applications duly furnishing the marks obtained by them in the first five semesters. There will be an entrance test for the candidates seeking admission to M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com. degree courses. The entrance test will be held at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday the 3rd June, 2008. Hall Ticket will not be issued for the Entrance Test. There will be no separate intimation to the candidates regarding the entrance test. Provisional admission will be made to M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com. courses on the basis of their marks obtained in the first five semesters of the Under-graduate courses and in the entrance test. All candidates who have been admitted provisionally on the basis of their marks in the first five semesters of the Under-graduate courses should submit the results of their sixth semester examination within 7 days from the date of publication of the results. If any candidate who has been admitted provisionally in the Post-graduate course on the basis of his / her marks in the first five semesters of the Under-graduate course fails subsequently in the sixth semester examinations, he / she will have to forfeit the seat as well as the fees paid by him / her.
The admission to the course will be based on the performance of the candidates in the qualifying examinations as well as in the entrance test, if any. Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc., course should have obtained at least 50% marks in Part III subjects of the B.Sc., degree course. For SC / ST candidates, 45% of marks in Science and a pass in Arts and Humanities is the required minimum for admission to all P.G. Courses.
Candidates seeking admission to the M.Com. degree course should have passed B.Com. However, candidates who have studied B.B.A./B.A./B.Sc. degree course with Accountancy as one of the subjects are also eligible for admission to the M.Com. degree course.
For admission to M.A. Tamil course a pass in B.A./B.Sc., Part-I Tamil or Part-III Tamil is required.

B. OTHER PAYMENTS
(a) Admission fee Rs.5/-
(b) All the first year students of U.G. courses and M.Phil. Students and the first year students of P.G. courses who have migrated from other Universities shall pay Rs.15/- as fee for application, Rs.50/- as University Entrance fee and Rs.175/- as Recognition Fee.
(c) Certificate verification fee Rs.10/- per certificate for the first year students of U.G. Courses.
(d) Celebration of Harijan Seva Sangh Fee Re. 1/-.
All the above fees are subject to revision to be notified by the Government. In addition to the above fees, students would have to pay any fees that may be prescribed from time to time.
PAYMENT OF FEES
On being selected for admission, students shall pay forthwith the tuition fee required to be paid for one semester along with other fees at the College Office, failing which they will forfeit their seats.
SUBMISSION OF CERTIFICATES
Students on admission should submit their SSLC / Higher Secondary / Degree Mark Statement, Conduct Certificate and Transfer Certificate issued by the School / College in which they previously studied, at the College Office soon after the interview is over.
Students are advised to take five Xerox copies of the Mark Statement, Community Certificate, Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate prior to submitting the originals at the College Office.
STUDENTS’ CO-OPERATIVE STORES
Every student shall become an associate member of the RA.252 Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College Students’ Co-operative Stores by paying the membership fee Re.1/-. All the students of the first year Under-graduate courses shall pay Rs.700/- towards book advance. Books to the value of the advance collected from each student will be supplied by the RA.252 Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College Students’ Co-operative Stores.
PLACEMENT
A separate placement cell is taking care of placement activities.
The college has produced many students pursuing outstanding careers in leading national and multi-national companies proving their talents in both SYSTEM SOFTWARE and APPLICATION SOFTWARE areas.
The college has liaison with the industry for campus interview programmes. Our students are absorbed into multinational pharmaceutical food processing industries and other business organizations in tune with their immense potentialities.
LIBRARY
A modern Barcoded & Computerized library with 69,021Books, 90 Journals and 45 Magazines. Library subscribe ONLINE JOURNALS for all science and humanities. Readers can access more than 3000 International Journals.
HOSTEL
At present, there are Four Hostels separately for boys and girls are attached to the institution. All students whose parents are not residents of Sivakasi are, as far as accommodation permits, are obliged to reside in the Hostel.
Applications form for admission to the hostel can be had from the college office on payment of Rs.10/- in cash. At the time of joining the hostel, each student shall pay an admission fee of Rs.10/-, hostel deposit of Rs.1500/- and the first semester convenience and establishment charges of Rs.1500/-.
NOTE
1. Please note that applications not correctly filled in shall not be considered for admission. If any of the particulars furnished by the applicant is later found to be not true, the applicant will forfeit his / her seat and fees.
2. Admission is subject to verification of mark certificates by the Director of Government Examinations and if the mark certificate is found to be bogus, admission is liable for cancellation besides criminal action being taken.
3. Scholarship will be granted to all eligible students as per government rules.
